A Week of Change

Wow, what a difference a week makes in the development of an infant! Within a week's time, Alana has started sitting up very well on her own and can use a high chair at restaurants now; she can get to a seated position from her belly; she has begun to crawl and pull up to a standing position in her crib, and to top it all off, Alana can now say "Mama." This varies from mom-mah to moom-ah to mam to mama, but it's close enough for me :-) Grammy was up for a visit, so she got to witness most all of these "firsts."

I visited a friend today who, along with her friend, cares for infants of teachers during the day. The four babies at the house were between 3 months and 1 year. Let me tell you, Alana loved it! It was the first time she had been around and played with a group of babies. She watched the others play while sitting by me for a few minutes. Then one of the babies crawled over to Alana and smiled as if to say, "Come and play." So she did! Alana got on all fours and made her way around the room, playing with toys, making happy noises, and giving kisses to other babies. It made me see the value of social interaction, even at such a young age.

From the Museum...

I would recommend the Creation Museum to anyone interested in how science and the Bible can be complimentary concerning the formation of the world. The museum takes you through the creation of the earth using science which actually supports biblical teaching and explores such topics as dinosaurs, floods, natural selection, strata formation, water currents, etc. We visited the museum on the way to Jeff's company picnic in Ohio a few weeks ago.
